“Milenials are a generation mostly of teens
and 20-somethings known for constantly holding up cameras , taking pictures and
posting themselves online”, that’s the opinion of Joel Stein, who wrote an
article ‘THE NEW GREATEST GENERATION’ in the American magazine ‘TIME’.He wrote about the different generations in the last
century. We read this article in English class, and debated about his opinion.
I can’t deny, that technology influences our teenagers’ life a lot. It became so easy and common to use,
that we actually can’t even imagine a
life without it. In my opinion our generation wouldn’t be that different, if we
wouldn’t have got the chance to use smartphones, i-pads and laptops so often. However
everybody actually expect by now, that you own one of those devises. You are
actually disadvantaged without one, even at school.Teachers
want their homework written down there in our calenders.Teaching techniques, like the flip
chatroom wouldn't even be possible without laptops. You have to watch videos on the YOU TUBE, to become thought. In
addition to that, school groups or friends expect, that you are actually
avaiable at any time and can be part of online groups. It’s for sure a really
quick and easy way to communicate, especially if you are organizing events or meetings, when you wanna hang out together. He described our
generation especially in the beginning of the article, me included as a 17 year’s old girl,
pretty negative. It’s the aspect that our life seems just all about
ourselves. We formed the ‘Me, Me, Me, generation’, where we are just focused on
us and our profiles in social networks like Facebook, Instagram or Tumblr. It
seems that we are getting everything, whatever we want. And maybe for older
generations it is like self-love.But it’s so easy to take pictures and post
them right away to tell all your friends, what you did or where you are.I can totally understand that our parents and grandparents actually don't really understand, why and what we are doing there.Of
course it’s different compared to the Baby Boomer Generation, who took pictures
of just the special events and framed them, to put them up in the living room
for the next 20 years as a memory.we got raised with this technology and are experts about it, which is a actually not bad thing to have. You have to be smart and need computer knowledge to keep all you accounts updated. For sure it’s true, that we spent more time on our phones or ipads than
others. However there are many reasons for it,
even responsibilties, which are shifted around from paperwork to online
websites. In my opinion technology influences our generation not just in a bad
way.We shouldn't see just the negative points of it.It's a great opportunity to stay in contact to each other.Especially for me as an international student, it's so easy to stay in contact with my friends and family and home in a cheap and really easy way.I upload pictures, which gives them the opportunity to see what i experienced. And i get the chance to see whats going on there, which is really nice.

good job
